Question by preciousAngel: How much money should I save for travel?
I want to travel to Europe again sometime next year. I was thinking about going to Barcelona for a few days. Then Italy and then Paris. And possibly travel even more…….

I’ve never stayed in a hostel, do you recommend it?

Depends on what you want to do when you get there. Paris is expensive so be prepared. I visited Morocco and Paris last summer and brought 3,000.00 US dollars in cash with me and ended up coming back with about 1,100 because I stayed with family often. Check the conversion rates before you go so you know where you stand with that. Never stayed in a hostel but depending on how flexible you are you might be able to find decent hotels at cheaper rates you just have to look for the deals.

you don’t even tell where you come from, your save should depending on how much money you pay for ticket to fly to Europe. If you don’t want to pay many money to stay in fancy hotel, then you can save many money by staying in cheap hotel. You need to be prepared for anything that could happen in your travel. So it mean that you need to guess the amount you would pay for certain stuffs like food, clothes, souvenir, and other things. When you estimate the amount that it will cost you, it is good idea to save more money than what you estimate for your vacation

I have stayed in hostels and I do recommend it for people traveling alone. it is certainly cheaper, it is easier to meet others and you can prepare your own meal in nearly all hostels, if that is what you want, saving some more money.

In most hostels you have the choice between smaller and bigger dorms, some also have private rooms, but you will spend much more if you use those.

For the countries you mention, staying in hostels, making your own meals and being not yet 26 I would recommend about €60 per day, although some people manage for less.
If you are over 26, want to stay in hotels, eat out all the time or want to do some shopping, €100 per day. Your travel to Europe will come on top of that, as you do not tell where you are from it is hard to give any indication for the expected cost. It can be from €25 on a cheap flight from England, booked early and at an inconvenient time. But it can also be $4000 for a flight from New Zealand booked at a close date or a popular time to travel.
